Icarus takes us on a splendid expedition through the far reaches of the universe and beyond.
Beautifully engineered with layers of subtle celestial effects and deep, mind-expanding dronescapes, COSMOS is a sublime exploration of the mysteries and secrets of outer space.
Deep and thought-provoking, COSMOS is a must have for Ambient Space fans ... highly recommended!
Since the dawn of mankind; people have been trying to analyse, comprehend and answer the paradoxic meaning of existence. Many a time, scholars would turn to religion, sciences, occult practices and philosophy in their endeavors to give an answer to the question that governs all; ‘why?’. Others would try to explain God, others to explain the Universe, others the Whole and others the Self.
As the aeons passed humanity gradually understood the significance of the celestial sphere and tried to explain this architectural wonder that is called the Cosmos. Ancient civilizations not only studied but also named the stars, anthropomorphizing them, giving them abilities, characters, traits, positive or negative aspects and, for many of those civilizations, even their deistic system was designed based on the myths about the stars.
In the medieval and modern world science has taken immense and great leaps of progress; technology has been pushing the possibilities and potential of space exploration ushering a new era; one of understanding, exploring and uncovering the concealed secrets of that vast celestial plain that have been buried under void and astric dust and might even hold the key to understanding not only how the master plan of existence was conducted, but also, how our ancient forebears formed their philosophy and religions.
Minos was the son of Zeus and Europa, father of Ariadne, husband to Pacify, king of Crete and post mortem the judge of the Underworld who charged Daedalus the Master Artificer to design the Labyrinth, a maze so vast and complicated that no one could find his way out once in. In the center of the Labyrinth a Beast was placed, Minotaur, half man, half Bull, upto whom, every nine years, seven boys and seven girls were sacrificed. Icarus, son of Daedalus together with his father, tried to escape Crete with wings made of wax. Icarus' father warns him first of complacency and then of hubris, asking that he fly neither too low nor too high, so the sea's dampness would not clog his wings or the sun's heat melt them. Icarus ignores his father's Teachings; and as he wants to fly close to the Sun, his wings of wax and feathers melt and he falls into the Sea.
Labyrinth, Beast containing maze; a half man half bulled one. As in the mythological plain, so in the astral one. Space, Cosmos, a plan designed and carried out by a Master Artificer, a vast and complicated one, that shines but sables.
A maze, like our psyche, so vast and complicated that once in, with no guidance and no courage, no one can get out; remaining there, through aeons, to be devoured by our Beast.
In this album, Cosmos, we are embarking on an astral journey. A journey that will examine the Duality of Natural Law that governs the stars, planets and void; that governs Logic, Philosophy and Theology.
